Preparing Absinthe In Society Properly preparing a glass of absinthe isn’t as complicated as you may think. The Star anise is not distracting at all to me.

This is an absinthe that would go well at the beach during a luau or tiki party. Looks like a slightly colored blanche, rather than a verte.

This is the only blanche I’ve had and based upon this will probably stick with the vertes. A little prickly on the palate, probably due to the star anise. This review is based on a blind sample. Unfortunately it only barely carries over to the taste, which reminds me more of Razzouk arak than it does of any absinthe. It’s light and refreshing.

July 8, at Wormwood is there and anise smells good. It is quite good.
A heftier wormwood profile would really help to fix that. May 25, at I’m not a huge fan of licorice types of flavors but even with this being fairly anise heavy, I still enjoyed it.
April 13, Updated: There’s a nice bit of citrus from the Melissa, too. If the bottle were a couple of inches taller, the answer would be clear August 06, Updated: I believe this is the new formulation because I can notice a huge difference.
Nothing really stands out as a “wow” but there’s not much to complain about, either. That could be uninteresting while drinking solely, but advantageous if drinking while eating. Mouth feel is thin, no real sense of anything creamy or luscious. There was a subtle opal like quality towards the end and this remained.
The first decent US-distributed absinthe. A wisp of a citrus pervades.
